Work with me, 1:1
Private work on the business you're building and whatever in you is getting tangled up with it.
Some problems need a tactical answer. Others need deeper work. Often, it's not obvious which one you're dealing with until we get into it.
The point of 1:1 is that we don't have to choose one lens in advance.
What can we work on?
Offer, positioning, pricing, customer acquisition, sales, priorities, difficult decisions, execution.
Sometimes you need somebody to look at the business and say: this is the problem, this is noise, and this is what I'd do next.
Avoidance, fear of visibility, rejection, self-doubt, perfectionism, control, identity, money, uncertainty, commitment.
Sometimes the strategy is already good enough. The difficult bit is getting yourself to actually execute it.
And sometimes both the tactical and the personal need to be worked together. That's usually where this gets interesting.
What does the work actually look like?
You bring whatever is live.
Maybe you don't know how to get the next ten customers.
Maybe you know exactly what conversation you need to have and you've been avoiding it for three months.
Maybe the company is growing but everything still has to go through you.
Maybe something that used to matter enormously to you suddenly doesn't, and you're not sure what that means for the business.
Maybe you've analysed the problem so thoroughly that analysis itself has become part of the problem.
We work with what's actually there.
I may challenge the business decision. I may challenge the story you're telling yourself about it.
Sometimes we'll make a plan. Sometimes we'll stay with something uncomfortable long enough to understand why it keeps showing up.
The goal isn't to turn everything into psychology. It's to get a more accurate read on what is happening, then do something useful with it.
How it starts
We talk briefly about what you're building, what's going on and whether I seem like the right person for it. It's a fit check, not a free session.
We get properly into the problem. You don't need to arrive with the “right” version of it — bring it as you currently understand it. By the end, I want us to have a better read on what's actually going on and a concrete next move. Even if we decide not to continue, the session should be useful on its own.
Private, ongoing 1:1 work.
Common questions
Bring me the problem as you currently understand it.
We'll work out what it actually needs.
